Six Suspects Apprehended Following 12 Million Euro Robbery on Gold Processing Laboratory in France

Six armed perpetrators using high-powered firearms used explosive devices to force entry into a gold treatment facility located in Lyon, causing light wounds to five workers during described as the latest high-profile daytime heist to hit France.

The daring raid occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, with officers rapidly detaining the alleged criminals and recovering the stolen goods estimated to be worth €12M (10.5 million pounds), officials reported.

Five staff members of the gold refining company received light wounds due to the explosion, and three of them required hospital checks for examination, officials confirmed. A total of twenty-eight staff were inside the facility when the robbers attacked.

The individuals, thought to be seasoned offenders, were arrested soon afterwards in the adjacent municipality of Vénissieux, a source close to the investigation stated.

A woman involved involved in the robbery was also apprehended, a police source indicated.

“Six suspects who utilized explosives in a raid against a precious metals company in Lyon, France were arrested at the scene,” the nation's interior minister stated online, praising officers for their “quick action, authority and management”.

High-caliber firearms, handguns and detonation devices were recovered as well.

The robbery occurred as authorities on Thursday apprehended five additional individuals, including a primary suspect, in relation to the bold theft at the Louvre.

Dozens of investigators have been pursuing four perpetrators who used a vehicle featuring an elevating platform and cutting tools to access a gallery on the first floor at the museum on the nineteenth of October, making off with jewelry valued at approximately 88 million euros.

In another notable incident, thieves last month forced their way into the French capital's Natural History Museum, taking gold specimens estimated at exceeding $1M. A young Chinese female was apprehended in the current month in Barcelona in connection with the break-in, officials confirmed.

The sequence of heists has sparked worry in the nation regarding inadequate security measures at museums and various establishments housing valuable items.
